Funny Life

Life is funny sometimes. Last night, I chatted with an old friend. (She rescued a dog and is trying to find a permanent home for him and I'm trying to help.) JL was my best friend from kindergarten through 10th grade. One day we got into a huge fight over this guy named Kyle. We both had major crushes on him and all went to the movies one night and she ended up making out with him right in front of me and it crushed me. She chose him over me and they ended up dating for the rest of high school. JL and I went our separate ways, but stayed in touch over Facebook and ended up reconnecting and becoming friendly again a few years ago. 

Want to know the funny thing about all of this? She came out of the closet in college and has been in a relationship with this amazing woman for the past six years. 

Want to know the even funnier part? He came out of the closet in college, too. 

It just goes to show that silly teenage fights are exactly that; SILLY. 

Just thought id share that with you. Remember that the things that may seem earth-shattering today will probably seem really insignificant in a few years. Don't write someone you care off forever because of petty differences because in a few years, you will probably realize that they are pretty great and you'll remember why they were so important to you in the first place.
